Our son Camden was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer (Ewings Sarcoma) in 2015 just after his 7th birthday. Camden had to endure a very difficult and aggressive treatment plan that included chemotherapy, radiation, transfusions and way too many hospital stays.
We are so blessed that Camden's treatment was successful - he is now more than 7 years cancer-free and continues to thrive! If only such a positive outcome could be true for all children fighting this horrible disease...seeing children battling cancer's various forms is heart wrenching.
I am proud to participate in Padres Pedal the Cause for the 9th time to help in the fight against cancer. 100% of every dollar raised funds collaborative research among San Diego's top cancer research institutions to accelerate cures:
- Rady Children's Hospital (where Camden received his treatment)
- UC San Diego Health
- Salk Institute
- Sanford Burnham Prebys
- Scripps Research
- La Jolla Institute of Immunology
With over $21 million raised to date, Padres Pedal the Cause has already funded 80+ innovative research grants in all types of cancer. The advancements made towards finding additional cures will be of benefit to people all over the world.
